I genuinely just love seeing women live together! Loved the sisters' relationships and how different they are individually. I think the relationship with their dad was a bit undercooked, but maybe that's just me.

A classic!!! I watched this with star and it was so fun and silly and I love neo yokio. Adored Archangelo in this.

microhabitat (2017); film; 1/2/25

A film I know I will think of from time to time. I love how the title truly embodies the story that it is which. Duh! That's what titles are supposed to do. But, truly, to foolishly live a simple life against the tides of capitalism...that little world is best described as a microhabitat. As if you're your own creature, which the main character is. I adore the poster as well.

The presence of the Environment! So, so beautiful with a lovely OST. Loved how recovery from a drug addiction was covered here alongside everything that led up to it. I think addiction is a theme I want to read/watch more about.

TÁR (2022); film; 1/6/25

THE ACTING! I believe this film is best understood as not a commentary on cancel culture, but as the inner psyche of the main character haunted by her own actions, which she deep down she knows to be wrong, but it is not one she wants to see eye to eye with. A rewatch is absolutely deserved.

love in the big city (2024); film; 1/6/25

A comfort movie that is now in the back of my pocket. I was so afraid this film would take a more annoying turn, whether it be via contrived conflicts or misogynistic writing but that was not the case. I live off of true m/f friendship. I'll watch the show version one day, but I am glad I got to the film first. They both tell different, but equally worthy stories. Anyways, my heart grew two times bigger after watching this and I looped Bad Girl Good Girl - Miss A after.

conclave (2024); film; 1/10/25

Very well made!! Just. A very surprisingly kind story about religion. As someone who actively practices a religion (even if it's not catholicism), but has been hurt by it and is more distant to it as a result...it was touching. I'm sure there's also a lot of interesting things to say about the fandomization of this film and people treating catholicism as a trend that other people on the internet can put into better words.

I think I went into it expecting something different. It's a lot more...slice-of-lifey than the first episode suggested. I genuinely expected there to be a bit more of a coherent narrative regarding the patriarchy, but it was more so a focus on how women give and take/ negotiate/settle/find peace where they can etc. Our Little Sister was more my speed...also. Too many straight people!

Solid, cute Bl. Would read again. This concept (yaoi with a kid on their hands because of a shitty mother) is neither here nor there for me because of the misogyny often featured in it plus the utter meaninglessness of the child character because they are nothing other than a prop. However, I liked how this story did it.

the midnight romance in hagwon; kdrama; 1/14-21/25

Okay, yeah I only watched this one because the male lead is hot and I really liked him in Little Women (had no idea he was in Squid Game, but good on the actor for getting that bag). I was pleasantly surprised though!!!!! This might rank as my second favorite kdrama ever?? It was such an earnest exploration of teaching and the limitations you face within the public school vs private sector. In case anyone is reading this, it's not a teacher student romance (gross. illegal. why is it so common.), but the fl did tutor the ml while she was in college and he was in high school. Nothing happened during that time and the romance takes place ten years later when they are both adults and teachers at the same after school cram school. I enjoy a good romance where it's obvious one of them (typically the ml) is into the other and you see them properly Court and Pursue them. It was a lot of the ml challenging the fl and vice-versa in a way I really, really liked. In general, none of the conflict here felt like a waste. Ik a lot of people (rightfully) dislike age gap relationships, but one thing I do like is the emphasis put on equality, not making assumptions about the other and respect. Side characters were delightful as well. Need to check out more from this screenwriter.

I appreciated the spontaneity of it. It's one I think I need to reread to grasp what it was really about. The video essay I watched after about it was informative. I wish I could own physical copies of this.

Early sakadays was peak...Not to sound like an annoying shounen fan, but I wish the animation quality was better. Regardless, it was a fun watch.

I wanted trash tv, but honestly,,,,honestly this was just like good unironically. Cartoonish, sure. Silly, yeah. Contrived, probably. But I had fun! I will be watching s3!

Watched this fast enough that it was a blur. I think I was led on to think this was more insane than it actually was unfortunately.

Same thoughts that I had with MyGo, but even more so. It all went downhill after what? Ep 1? Ep 2? I craved drama I did not get. Maybe I'm just being a hater, though...I simply think there is better girl band animanga out there. Umiko and Taki were my faves.

I will think fondly of my time watch season 1 wayyy before season 2 aired. I will also think fondly of my weekly routine of watching this while eating my sandwich from the masjid and talking to oomf about every ep. It's a good show! The fanbase didn't impact me much personally, but. I do have to mention how rancid its viewer base became though. The heterosexuality overload plus the racism!

I couldn't do the weird alien x human girl. It just got weird vibes. I'm sorry. It's okay because Hirayasumi is still the best.

I liked the parts I reread! I think it's still good! I....just...am...really...really sad the art style changed for the worse... I feel sad saying it. I think I'll still keep up with it as it updates though.

The sequel series for this being tagged as a BL also makes me afraid...Like I'm so down for one sided crushes and all, but idk guys...idk about any further...

Lives in my mind rent free. iirc I saw a tweet that was like 'that 3.8 star movie on letterboxd will save you' and someone qrted with this movie. So I watched it. Yeah, it saved me. The concept of having a weird bond with the dog that bit you that may or may not have rabies so you have to rest while also watching if this dog dies soon...yeah...yeah.

Fun. Not much else to say.
